Possible involvement of zinc deficiency in epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor?induced xerotic dermatitis

چکیده
Cancer treatment with epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors (EGFRIs) often induces severe xerotic dermatitis. Various irritants facilitate development of dermatitis in skin. As zinc deficiency plays a role the irritant dermatitis, we measured serum levels 25 patients due to EGFRIs. Of these patients, nine were treated EGFR tyrosine kinase and 16 anti-EGFR antibody alone or combination other anticancer agents. Serum all lower than normal range >80 ?g/dL, mean ± SD level 56.4 11.7 ?g/dL. These correlated magnesium patients. is known be reduced by inhibition EGFR, similar mechanism may also involved decreasing level. Among 21 supplementation for more 2 months, markedly improved, an increase The five exhibited no significant improvement their skin condition, insufficient unstable levels. In conclusion, beneficial supportive care EGFRI-induced

Altered Expression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) in Glioma
EGFR is a key molecule in cancer cells. EGFR signaling was shown to promote tumor cell proliferation and survival, invasion and angiogenesis and mediate resistance to treatment, including ionizing radiation in preclinical models. We extracted proteins from astrocytoma (III and IV) oligodendroglioma(IV) tumors and normal brain tissues and then evaluated the protein purity by Bradford test ...

Objective(s): Our previous study showed that a newly designed tracer radioiodinated 6-(3-morpholinopropoxy)-7-ethoxy-4-(3'-iodophenoxy)quinazoline ([125I]PYK) is promising for the evaluation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) status and prediction of gefitinib treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. EGFR is over-expressed and mutated also in glioblastoma. In the present study, the ...

متن کاملPOSSIBLE INVOLVEMENT OF GABAA RECEPTOR SITES IN CATALEPSY
The present work was performed to show the possible interaction of GAB A, and GABAB receptors in catalepsy. The following results were obtained: 1- Muscimol (MUS), a GABAA agonist, induced catalepsy. This effect was dose-dependent. Baclofen (BAC), a GABAB agonist, had no effect in this respect. 2- Catalepsy induced by muscimol was potentiated by pretreatment of animals with bicuculline (BI...
